How to link a local user account with an external Identity Provider
In certain scenarios, members of your organization might have previously possessed a local user account before the implementation of an external Identity Provider for Single Sign-On (SSO). Once SSO has been configured in qibb for your organization, these users will be prompted to link their accounts when they log in next. To successfully link their account with SSO, a user needs to follow these steps:
Screen | Description | |
---|---|---|
1 | When a user enters their email on the qibb Sign In Screen, they are directed to the external Identity Provider's login page. Once the user successfully authenticates there, they are redirected back to qibb. | |
2 | The user will be redirected to the “User already exists” Screen, as the account’s email address is matching a local user account in qibb. → Click on “Add to existing account” to proceed. This will automatically send an email to the user account’s address and present the next screen. | |
3 | This screen informs the user that an email has been automatically dispatched to confirm their identity. To complete the account linking process, the user must click on the link enclosed in the email. → Click on the link in the email to complete the process. Upon clicking the link, the user will be directed to the qibb Portal, where they can immediately begin using the platform. At this point, the browser tab displaying the message "You need to verify your email address." can be closed. |
