Dashboard Membership Roles Overview

A dashboard can be made accessible to other identities by adding them as members. By default, a newly created dashboard is only accessible to its creator and admins 1 .

Members can perform specific actions within the dashboard based on their assigned membership roles. The available membership roles are:

Viewer
Editor
Owner

1 Users which are part of the dashboard-admin group are also automatically Owner of all dashboards across the platform.
2 Only users with the Dashboard Admin or dashboards.create platform role can execute this action. No Dashboard Membership required.

Platform Roles for Dashboards

The following roles operate at the platform level and grant or restrict certain actions across all dashboards for a user:

Platform Role	Description
Dashboard Viewer (Access feature)	Enables users to access and manage their dashboards from the Dashboards Page according to their membership roles. Note: This only grants access to the feature. Note: This role only grants access to the feature and does not provide membership or access to individual dashboards.
Dashboard Admin (Access feature with additional creator rights)	Enables users to access and manage their dashboards from the Dashboards Page according to their membership roles. In addition, it grants users to create new dashboards. Note: This role only grants access to the feature and does not provide membership or access to individual dashboards.

Platform Groups for Dashboard Management

The following roles operate at the platform level and grant or restrict certain actions across all dashboard for a user:

Platform Group	Description
dashboard-admin (Gain owner membership for all dashboards)	This group is an internal group. This group is assigned with Owner Membership for all dashboard. This allows global management of all dashboard on the platform for group members. Note: Access to this group requires an Ultimate Subscription and a single-tenant environment.
